MOUNT ZION GARDENS

SINAI GARDENS

CONGREGATIONAL INVOLVEMENT

Mount Zion Gardens are consecrated for Jewish burials following traditional Halachic standards. There are two Mount Zion Gardens; our first garden was dedicated at Sparkman Hillcrest in 2001 and our second garden was dedicated at Restland in 2008. Initially conceived to meet the needs of Dallas’ Orthodox congregations, those synagogues recommend Mount Zion to their members.  Additionally, many unaffiliated families and families from other area synagogues choose and are welcome at Mount Zion.  Synagogue membership is not required.

Sinai Gardens located at the UJC at Restland, serve the entire Jewish community.   Our community is made up of individuals and families with varying and diverse levels of involvement and observance.  The varying Jewish traditions and practices within our community are honored and respected in Sinai Gardens.  All individuals and families, whether religious or secular, observant or non-practicing, affiliated or unaffiliated, newcomer or longtime resident, born Jewish, convert or inter-married, are welcome at Sinai Gardens.

We are proud of the many area congregations and organizations that are part of the United Jewish Cemeteries.

Dallas’ ten Orthodox congregations recommend both of the Mount Zion Gardens to their members.  Three of Dallas’ Conservative congregations have consecrated gardens in the UJC at Restland for their members.

The 2016 expansion of the UJC at Restland will accommodate additional congregations.
